Two lawful ways
This is how we recommend using the program. Photos of children are personal data, and automatic grouping by face counts as processing biometric data under GDPR, which needs the parents’ explicit consent. So the program offers two ways. Both are sound, and both give you an album per child.
WAY 1
With face recognition — with the parents’ consent
The program separates the children by their faces on its own. All you need to take care of is the consent.
- Before the shoot, collect a signed consent form from the parents. Template to download (PDF)
- You need a signed form for every child in the shoot. If anyone hasn’t signed, use way 2 for that group.
- When uploading, choose “With face recognition”.
WAY 2
With separator cards — no face recognition
Without consent, the children are separated by cards you photograph during the shoot. The program does no face recognition, and no facial data is created.
- Open the cards on your phone, or print them.
- Before each child’s portraits, photograph the “New child” card; before photos with a sibling, friend or parent, the “Group photos with the previous child” card.
- When uploading, choose “With separator cards”.

| During the shoot | nothing extra | a card before each child |
| Facial data | created, deleted when the session closes | none created |
| Result | an album per child, automatically | an album per child, by the cards |
